Read closely as we cover things to be aware of before departure, during transit to the venue from Noi Bai International Airport, and information related to pre-registration dates, community efforts at ETHVietnam, side/after events, and more!

Vaccination result is needed for entry.

Entering the country

Some keywords for you:

• Xin Chào! = Hello!

• Cảm ơn = Thank you

• Tôi tên là Alex = My name is Alex

• Rất vui được gặp bạn = Nice to meet you!

Return Flight:

You’ll need to show a ticket for your returning flights to enter Vietnam.

Pro tip: Some travel sites like Priceline make it easy to book a flight and then cancel within 24 hours for a full refund, in case plans change.

Safety👷‍♀️

It essentially means, don’t make yourself an obvious target: use common sense while in Vietnam. That means:

• Look where you’re going, being aware of the world around you rather than getting lost in your phone’s screen.

• Don’t wear flashy items like expensive watches, or those gold-plated hardware wallets and loudly branded crypto-swag

• Don’t walk around with your phone out or with your laptop when not necessary

• It’s a big city, so leave those valuables (passport, excess cash/cards) at your hotel

• Use Grab or Vinasun or Mailinh taxi, where a 20-min ride costs around $5 USD. Avoid hailing street taxis in favor of something with a reputation/rating system, an match those plates to what you see in the app, as always.

• Try not to walk home alone at night

Weather ☀️ Hanoi City

Hanoi's weather in March is usually pleasant, with spring temperatures throughout the month. You'll find average temperatures are normally from about 15 to 20 °C (or 59 to 68 °F), with the occasional colder morning or evening.

You can however expect some short showers, with an average 50 mm (2 inches) of rain, as March is coming towards the end of Hanoi's dry season and into the start of northern Vietnam's rainy season. Humidity in March is an average of 82%, as Hanoi is generally comparatively humid.

ETHVietnam Venue

The venue for Ethvietnam is The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long at 19C Hoang Dieu Street, Dien Bien, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Vietnam.

Where to stay in Hanoi 🏠

We have some recommendations for areas near the venue to make it easier for you to move around.

Currency Exchange 💶

The currency is the Vietnamese Dong (VND). You can exchange cash or withdraw from ATMs at the Airport.
You can check exchange rates here.

Translation Apps 📱

We recommend Google Translate but don’t be too worry, so many young Vietnamese speak English.

2. TRANSPORTATION

Most attendees will be landing soon, and we want to make sure that you're able to easily navigate toward the ETHVietnam venue.

The majority of folks will arrive at Noi Bai airport. From there, there are a few easy ways to reach to The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, where Ethvietnam will take place.

We recommend using Grab or Vinasun or Mailinh taxi from the airport to the place where you will stay.

It will be around 130,000VND to 180,000vnd to get to the center from the airport

3. ETHVIETNAM EVENT REGISTRATION

A. Pre-Registration 🧾

Optionally, skip the line on Day-1 by registering beforehand, and receive your wristband, SIM card (if you need one), and POAP before things even kick-off!! (TBC)

B. DOORS OPEN: On-site Registration 🥳

DOORS: March 16th, 2024 @ 8:00AM**

OPENING CEREMONY: March 16th, 2024 @ 9:00AM

PROGRAMMING: Each day at 10:00AM

ETHVIETNAM VENUE: The Imperial Citadel of Thang Long

Registration “Need to Know’’:

• Before you arrive, you MUST redeem your code for a ticket QR and download the PDF to your device or print it in advance.

• Wristbands are required for entry and must be picked up at registration. Do not lose your wristband --- it will not be replaced.

• Swag will be distributed inside the venue during ETHVietnam.

C. Internet and SIM Cards 💻

You can easily buy simcard at the airport. Noi Bai also have wifi free at the airport for you to call the Grab.

4. VENUE & EXPERIENCE

A. Welcome to the THE IMPERIAL CITADEL OF THANG LONG 🙏

The Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long (Vietnamese: Hoàng thành Thăng Long) is a complex of historic buildings associated with the history of Vietnam located in the centre of Hanoi, Vietnam. Its construction began in 1010 and was completed in early 1011 under the reign of Emperor Lý Thái Tổ of the Lý dynasty.

3 intense days of conferences, networking, and learning, bring together up to 1000 builders, developers, and blockchain enthusiasts. Including talks, discussions, and networking opportunities, we'll be having future art installations, NFT AI exhibitions and special events.

Next to the Water Fountain, the music stage - another community initiative - is awaiting you. There will be a program with breaks every day from 5PM to & 7PM.

Hacker Room 🕵️‍♀️

After you join hackathon online, you will join #Hackathon IRL from 15 - 17 March, 2024. The hacker room will be used for hackathon and short workshops for hackers. Everything you need for hackers: electricity, comfort table & chair, the light. Buidl!

“Ethvietnam After Dark” 🌝 - TBD

The venue open until 10PM to provide a space for continued collaboration, live music, game nights, a Happy Hour each day from 5-7PM & more!

We are still finalizing the after dark activities. If you have more idea please let us know.

Vietnamese Food is very “Ngon”. We have Spring rolls but not Rollups 😛 We have Phở, Bánh Xèo, Hủ Tíu and hundred of delicious dishes. You can check options for street foods, restaurant, cafe, bars here
